- "Karlie Kloss is known for her killer legs and elegant ballet poise that comes from studying ballet from the age of 10. Her interests to this day also include biking and baking.
- Born in Chicago on August 3, 1992, Karlie Elizabeth Kloss moved with her family to St. Louis in 1994, where she gained her legendary poise at Caston's Ballet Academie.
- She was discovered when she was 13 years old when she appeared in a charity fashion show in St Louis.
- In August 2007 she appeared in her first Teen Vogue editorial, a month before making her professional runway debut for Calvin Klein where she appeared as an exclusive. Kloss also appeared for Gucci in Milan that season as an exclusive.
- In September 2009 Vogue US featured Kloss as one of their favourite faces. "She's an amazing model." said Steven Meisel in the article. "She knows clothes. She has tons of energy. She will add things to the shoot that I would never have thought of." "Like a young Christy Turlington," is how Arthur Elgort described her.
- Kloss counts Australian model Abbey Lee among her friends and appeared in the 50th Anniversary addition of Vogue Australia in 2009. She has also appeared in editorials for British Vogue, Vogue China and Vogue Paris.
- In 2010 she was signed as the face of both Hermès and Christian Dior, and signed a contract with Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics.
- In December of that year Mario Testino featured Kloss, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell as star models in British Vogue.
- In 2011, she opened for Christian Dior's spring couture show in Paris; the fall ready-to-wear shows for John Galliano, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta and Prabal Gurung; the fall Azzedine Alaïa couture show; and the spring Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano shows. Across the year she also closed at the fall ready-to-wear shows for Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta and at the spring ready-to-wear shows for Rodarte, Roland Mouret, Christian Dior, Lanvin and Elie Saab."
